Alphataurus (album)
Alphataurus is the debut self-titled studio album from Italian rock band Alphataurus. It is recognized as one of the finest examples of the progressive rock scene in Italy. It was released in 1973 under the short lived Magma Records label, which would go on to release albums for fellow Italian bands Pholas Dacylus, New Trolls Atomic System, and Latte E Miele. [1]

Background
The band had previously played at various live shows in 1972, Vittorio De Scalzi of New Trolls offered them a dealto join the newly formed Magma Records he made with his brother, Aldo De Scalzi. The band's album was the first to be released on the label. [2]
