Broad Party Platform

  • Economic
    • Broad Economic
      • Nordic model capitalism
    • Tax
      • Property taxes no only contribute a flat amount to education. Schools are now funded statewide to ensure an equitable distrubution of wealth. A struggling school will receive more funding than a successful school.
      • Increases in funding for the IRS, so they may more efficiency investigate and prosecute tax-evaders and fraudsters.
      • Reform of the tax system to close loopholes and make sure the rich pay their fair share. Closure of the "buy-borrow-die" scheme.
      • Free tax filing, along with a gross reduction in the tax preparation business. Institution of a zero-return tax system for those with relatively uncomplicated returns.
    • Agriculture
    • Labor
      • Pro-union stance - encouragement of workers to join and support unions, establishment of unions that do not already exist.
    • Urban & Rural Development
      • Reform of the US Postal System to be more efficient, and remove the pension-funding requirement. Reform the US Postal System back into the government, rather than a government-controlled corporation. The mail system is a SERVICE, not a business.
  • Foreign
    • anti-Russia
    • anti-China
    • anti-Iran
      • Attempts to undermine the regime here at all costs, with the aim of a revolution resulting in a democracy.
    • anti-North Korea
    • Israel & Palestine
      • interesting stance here
    • Ukraine
    • NATO
    • EU
  • Social–Domestic
    • Education
      • Abolition of the Charter schools. If schools want public funding, then they must submit to public governance.
      • Abolition of standardized testing, repeal of the "No Child Left Behind" Act that in reality just held everyone back.
      • Increases in funding for public education nationally, including teacher salaries.
      • Investigation into college tuition - why has it become so expensive over the years? Curtailing of costs for public universities.
      • Guaranteed Pre-school to High School Graduation for every child. For those that desire it, state-supported trade or vocational school.
      • Reform of the US Student Loan System to be more lenient and less predatory. The point of these loans isn't to make money, it's to invest in our workforce.
    • Military
      • Maintenance of American military hard power and soft power both at home and abroad. Investigations into why the military needs as large of a budget as it does. Increases in pay for all servicemembers.
    • Environment
      • Anti-exploitation of our nation's natural resources. Preservation of our national and state parks and monuments.
    • Energy
      • Government-owned electric, gas, power, water, and sewer utilities, along with telecommunications and the internet.
      • Nationalization of the US Energy System.
      • Pro-nuclear policy. Massie expansion and construction of new reactors to replace aging, polluting, destructive, cancer-causing coal plants.
      • Support for existing renewable infrastructure such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and tidal/wave energy.
      • Coal plant workers and miners can be retrained to a new energy trade.
    • Healthcare
      • A strongly pro-choice platform.
    • Family Planning
      • Free childcare for qualifying families. Free daycare for those who need it.
      • Comprehensive sex education for all students, along with easily accessible condoms and other contraceptives, pre- and perinatal services, and UTI testing and treatment.
    • Justice
      • All police must carry individual professional liability insurance, analagous to a physician's malpractice insurance.
      • Police must hold an Associate of Public Safety and Laws from an accredited policing academy. It takes 2 years to become a police officer. Minimum age 21 and must be a United States citizen. Associates degrees may be awarded by an accreditied 2-year, vocational, junior, or community college, with a 6 month police "boot camp," similar to the current system. Or applicants may choose the 2-year police academy route.
        • Police force higher officers (sergeants and above) must have a bachelor's at minimum.
      • All police officers must carry a policing license, analagous to a medical license.
      • Strong anti-corrpution offices and investigations with harsh punishments for the corrupt.
      • Abolition of the death penalty. The government cannot be considered 100% right 100% of the time, nor should it be allowed to murder its own citizens. Innocent people have been executed before, and as long as the death penalty stands, they will be again.
    • Social
    • Housing
    • Transportation
      • Increasing tax credits for those who purchase fully-electric vehicles, and expansion of electric vehicle infrastructure.
      • Phaseout of gasoline and diesel powered vehicles by 2075.
    • Veterans
    • Election Reform
      • Support for Instant Runoff Voting and Mixed Member Proportionate elections
      • Abolitiion of the electrol college
      • Establisment of an independent redistricting system and outlawing of gerrymandering.
      • Free and fair elections on a SUNDAY. Not a random Tuesday. Make it easier for people to vote, increase early voting and voting by mail. Remove barriers to voting. Increase polling locations and dropbox locations.
      • Strict PUBLIC FUNDING for all federal and state elections

  • Abolishment of the US Health Insurance system
  • Creation of Medicare for All, the US Socialzied Healthcare System.
    • Adoption of single-payer healthcare.
  • Adoption of the Metric System for the USA
  • Lobbying is hereby outlawed. Corporations are not people, and money is not free speech.
  • Elaborate social safety nets - there should be no homeless people in the "greatest country"
  • Reform of the US Prison System - to focus more on rehabilitation, rather than punishment.
  • Legalization, or at least decriminalization - of most drugs
    • Users should be provided with healthcare, not prison.
  • Development of a high-speed interstate rail system
  • Promotion of trade unions
  • Police must carry malpractice insurance, and an associates degree in public safety as a baseline requirement.
  • Pro women's rights, LGBT+ rights, etc.
  • Pro immigration. Immigration reform. "Why don't they come into this country legally?" Because it's extremely hard and expensive to do that. Let's make it easier, hmm?
  • Combat misinformation on vaccination and public heath, and combat healthcare misinformation
  • Restoration of government trust
  • Massive american dietary reform - education starting in elementary school - massive overhaul of the FDA - extra sugar and shit in food should be banned, removing most artificial dyes, flavors, and sweeteners.
  • Paths to statehood or compact of free association for the inhabited territories, and (city-)statehood for DC.
  • Climate reform, recognizing that if we destroy this planet, we do not get another one.
    • Strong push for other countires, including China, to follow-suit.
  • Reformation of american auto manufacturing, shifting to long range electric vehicles and phase out gasoline cars. Tell the oil companies to shut the fuck up and deal with it.
  • Modern progressivism, á la Franklin and Theodore Roosevelt

Election Strategy

  • make it seems like the repubs are taking your rights away, they're taking your subsidies away, they hate you and that's the point
  • Make it seem like they get off to money and money alone. they're greedy, unchristian, selfish, closed-minded.
  • Strategies to secure each "vote" the hispanic vote, the black vote, the women vote, the educated vote the farm vote etc.
  • We need a "Democratic Tea Party"
  • Take control of state and local governments - basically we need a "Project Blue Map"
  • Attack the republicans constantly - even outside of election cycles
  • Time to play hardball - do all of the rule breaking tradition trouncing stupid shit that the repubs do in congress. Quit expecting them to follow the rules and quit following the rules ourselves.
  • Normalization of the word "Radical Right Wing" - call them terrorists, fascists, oligarchs, Nazis.
  • We need a Left Wing Version of Fox News - or just abolish Fox News entirely. Or destroy its reputation as "news"
  • We're trying to move forward, and all they want to do is hold us back.
  • You don't have to admit that you were wrong. Just admit that you were lied to. And then let's take America back, together.
  • You were lied to. I was lied to. These greedy corporate bobbleheads robbing our country and playing us for fools. It's time us citizens band together against the corrupt.
  • Tucker Carlson - America's core problems are in fact, economic. Can you kids earn enough to form stable families of their own and live with dignity? Everything flows from that. And that's what most Americans, of all colors, worry about most. So, of course, it's the one thing our leaders hate to talk about. That's not accidental, again, it's by design. What you're watching is class war disguised as race war. Keep the population at one another's throats, angry, suspicious, tribal, and maybe they'll never figure out how much we're stealing. The biggest change to American society over the past 50 years has been the death of the middle class. This used to be a middle class country; it is not anymore. Most of our population has become poorer in real terms, while a shrinking number of people control an ever-expanding percentage of our wealth. That means that fewer Americans overall have a meaningful stake in society and more are dependent. That makes the country much more volatile than it once was. These riots really shouldn't surprise you. It is hard to know exactly who is responsible for these sad changes to America, but it is very easy to see who is benefiting from them.
  • Also Carlson - They're telling you that anyone who supports Donald Trump is a white supremacist for political reasons. This is election season obviously, and they want more political power. But there are other reasons too, that they're saying this. Ever wonder why rich people seem the most hysterical on the subject? Ever noticed that it's the highest paid people on television who are the most determined to convince you that white supremacy is America's biggest problem? Why is that? Simple. Every minute you're angry about race is a minute you're not thinking about class, which of course, is the real divide in this country. Working class people of all colors have a lot more in common, infinitely more in common, with each other than they do with some overpaid MSNBC anchor. And if you were allowed to think about that long enough, you might start to get unauthorized ideas about economics, and that would be disruptive to a very lucrative status quo. So, they whip you into a frenzy of racial fear so that it never enters your mind.
