This is a general guide for improving the List of Roblox games, or any other Roblox game articles. Roblox has millions of games, but only a select few have coverage by reliable sources[a] (unfortunately). This should be a little guide on what to do about the games, or the list itself.
Inclusion criteria
[edit](taken from the talk page itself)
[edit]All entries on this list must be either be notable by Wikipedia standards (have their own articles) or backed by multiple reliable secondary sources that majorly and meaningfully cover them—that is, how-to guides, such as code lists, do not count. Although a game on the platform might have exceeded millions of visits, the real reason for its inclusion here would be for the game to have been significantly covered by outside media. If not, the game should not be included in the list. A vetted list of reliable sources that may have covered a Roblox game in such a manner can be found at WP:VG/S.
It should be noted that the above is the only criteria for a game's inclusion. Thus, a game's entry can only be removed if it does not meet the criteria, not because the game has been removed from the platform, you morally (see WP:NOTCENSORED and WP:RIGHTINGGREATWRONGS) or personally (see WP:JUSTDONTLIKEIT) object to it, or the game isn't "popular" enough.
My personal opinion on what counts and what does not count
[edit]Basically, for Wikipedia articles, it needs to have at least five RSes with significant coverage. (i checked the Adopt Me article). And as for sections, I would warrant two reliable sources, or one reliable source + two situational. The reliable sources need to demonstrate coverage (I would be kind enough to extend it to list articles (50 best games, 10 best horror games, etc.)) Do NOT use Codes articles or How To articles. Valnet sources do NOT count to significant coverage. Beebom is kinda... im not sure, but best not use it to demonstrate notability.
Adding games
[edit]You can choose to be bold and add the games yourself, but it's best you propose the game on the talk page, in case you don't have the sources necessary or you do but you are not sure if they are reliable or not. Remember to follow talk page guidelines (we will delete shit about how to get good at your favourite Roblox game or advertisements of some roblox game you made[b])
Some games that were added boldly, if I am not wrong, were Arsenal, Brookhaven, Rainbow Friends and Ryanair Roblox. Two out of the four were deleted because of notability issues repeatedly, with Rainbow Friends being deleted multiple times, so it could be risky.
But what if the game is popular?
[edit]Popularity ≠ notability. So just because a game with a million visits have a section or even an article does NOT mean another game with more visits can warrant one. It matters if RSes cover the game in their articles (or possibly the developers themselves, but im not sure)
Deleting games
[edit]And then there's the painful part. When you find out that a game on the section does not actually follow its inclusion criteria. You can also boldly delete games if you are very VERY confident that they do not qualify for inclusion, or you can request deletion. You need to PROVE that it does not qualify, not that you hate it or the developers love to finger kids or animals, or other disgusting shit.
Format of list
[edit]Firstly, split the list into original, licensed or unlicensed games. Original games are games that are completely original or based off another game on Roblox (Doors is based off Rooms, not sure about Dress to Impress). Licensed games are games either based off material NOT on Roblox but licensed by the creator, or games that are created as an official game in the material itself (FNAF: Survival Crew, Notoriety, etc.)[c] And last but not least, unlicensed games are games based off material NOT on Roblox AND NOT licnesed by the original creators themselves. This includes unlicensed fangames (Pokemon Brick Bronze, Ryanair Roblox). Keep in mind that some names would be changed around here or there or the game is completely overhauled to remove any mention of the original for copyright reasons.
Also, do NOT change the format of the list to resemble a table format (as shown in List of horror games), as there isn't that many Roblox games added onto this list AND out of all of them, only THREE have articles, so you are essentially deleting information if you suddenly switch.
Images
[edit]Images MUST illustrate gameplay of the game that can't be otherwise illustrated using the text provided. Do NOT upload thumbnails they do absolutely nothing to that... the rest, I am not sure about it.
