The Commercial Internet Protocol Security Option is a mechanism for applying security labels to Internet Protocol traffic. It was supported by an IETF working group[1] and used in Solaris Trusted Extensions.[2]

It has been replaced by IPSO, defined in RFC 1108.[1]
