A curious string of incidents in Germany are tied to a local horse track. Apparently, frogs have been observed swelling up with gasses and exploding - propelling their intestines as much as three metres.

The commonly accepted explanation is that a viral infection, brought over from America or Britain by horses racing at the track, is causing the frogs' peculiar behaviour.

To date, photographic evidence hasn't made it into Google Images or Wikipedia.
