DVDInfo is a free and open-source program that displays technical information about DVDs and generally media files such as video, audio and subtitle files used in DVD-Video discs. For some information about the contents of DVDs it uses its own DVDInfoLib and for some other information related to video codecs it uses MediaInfoLib.
Technical information
DVDInfo reveals information such as:
- General: Disc Label, Disc Title, Disc Size (in bytes)
- Movie Related: Parts, Video Files (.VOB), MetaFile, Movie Size (in bytes), Length/Duration (Hours, Minutes, Seconds and Milliseconds), Standard (PAL/NTSC)
- Video: Codec, BitRate (in kbps) (supports bitrate calculation between multiple files in case the movie is split into multiple files), Resolution, FrameRate, Aspect Ratio, Format profile
- Audio: Codec, Language, Bitrate, Channels, Sampling Rate
- Subtitles: Codec, Language
Downloading
DVDinfo can be downloaded as .tar.gz and run as portable or Installed.
The setup is created with NSIS and compressed/packed with 7-zip self extracting setup.
Supported input formats
DVDInfo supports just about any video and audio file related to DVD Video Discs:
- Video: .VOB (DVD-Video), .IFO, .BUP
It can also open a folder that contains valid DVD files and DVD directly from the Optical Disc Drive.
Supported Operating Systems
The only DVDInfo system requirement is .NET Framework 4.0[3], so it is supported by Microsoft Windows versions:
- Windows XP or later (.NET Framework 4.0 install required)
There is no support for Linux till now.
