The HTTP File Server is a web server specifically designed for publishing and sharing files. Available set of features widely differs from other web servers, indeed it lacks lots of common features, like CGI, while sporting others, like counting file downloads.

Development started in August 2002, and reached version 1.0 in September of the same year.
