DeepLearning.AI is an education technology company aimed at providing accessible and high-quality resources for individuals and organizations interested in artificial intelligence and machine learning through various courses and specializations. It was founded in 2017 by British-American computer scientist Andrew Ng.
While not a massive open online course (MOOC), DeepLearning.AI creates and provides MOOCs through established platforms, primarily Coursera, which was founded by Ng in 2012.
History

DeepLearning.AI was founded in 2017 by Andrew Ng following his tenure as Chief Scientist at Baidu and co-founder of Google Brain. The company was initially announced in June 2017, shortly after Ng's departure from Baidu, with only a logo and domain name, launching officially in August of that year.[1]
The organization's mission is to "grow and connect the global AI community" by making education and training in artificial intelligence widely accessible. Since its inception, the company has released a range of learning materials and tools aimed at empowering people to learn about and apply machine learning techniques.[2]
The platform has developed multiple partnerships with leading technology companies and AI organizations, including Amazon AWS, NVIDIA, Google Cloud, Intel, Microsoft Azure, and various AI startups.[3][4]
As of 2024, the platform has reached over 7 million students worldwide, offering more than 50 free short courses alongside its paid specializations and longer programs.[5]
Courses
Deep Learning Specialization
The flagship program of DeepLearning.AI is the "Deep Learning Specialization", which consists of five courses hosted on Coursera:[6]
- Neural networks and deep learning
- Improving deep neural networks: hyperparameter tuning, regularization and optimization
- Structuring machine learning projects
- Convolutional neural networks
- Sequence models, including recurrent neural networks (RNNs) and transformers
AI for Everyone
