Americo Garibaldi Ghersi was a Peruvian oncologist, medical researcher, and writer known for his extensive research and contributions in the field of oncology. He completed his higher studies at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France in 1913. In 1919, he resumed his studies in the Faculty of Medicine in Paris, from where he graduated as a Bachelor of Medicine in 1923, with the thesis "Thyroid insufficiency and immunity", which won him the faculty's thesis medal.
He presented a new theory on endocrine allergy to the French Academy of Sciences, which was published in its bulletin.
