With increased use of antidepressant medication (such a s fluoxetine), the risk of developing gestational hypertension- high blood pressure during pregnancy- increases greatly. A Meta-Analysis was conducted and found that the odds of developing gestational hypertension increased signiticantly (odds ration of 2.13). Women ages 30-34 were shown to have the greatest risk. It is recommended that medication use should be stopped by the 10th week of pregnancy.
