Digiworld Institute (formerly the Institut de l'audiovisuel et des télécommunications en Europe) is a european think tanks specialized in the digital economy. For over 45 years, the Digiworld Institute has been analyzing, deciphering and modeling the trends and impacts of digital technologies on society, the economy and public policy.
Today, the Digiworld Institute boasts over 100 members and contributors: major international groups, ETIs, SMEs, start-ups, institutions, universities, local authorities and leading personalities.
History
- 1977: IDATE founded by François Schoeller[1]
- 1978: First IDATE International Conference
- 2006: "DigiWorld Summit" becomes the new brand of the 28th annual IDATE International Conference
- 2012: "Digiworld Institute" brand replaces "DigiWorld Programme"
- 2022: Launch of the Fondation du Monde Numérique
Activities
The Digiworld Institute works on a 'variety of topics : telecommunications, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, industry 5.0, Web 3.0, augmented reality and virtual reality, green tech, sports and innovation ...
Throughout the year, the Digiworld Institute produces reports, video interviews, leads working groups (its "Commissions") and organizes seminars with the members of the think tank.
Every year in December, the Digiworld Institute organizes the Digiworld Summit, an event uniting academics, policymakers, experts and leaders of the tech world to discuss key trends and issues and to present the work accomplished throughout the year.
