Alessandro Montanari is a world renowned Italian geologist. He is the director of the Coldigioco Osservatorio Geologico. He is most famous for his collaboration with Walter Alvarez. He is also known as Sandro.

Alesandro Montanari is the director of the Geological Observatory of Coldigioco, near Ancona, in the Marche region of Italy.
