France??

Charles Levefer was almost certainly one of the sons of "Uncle Dan" D. M. Levefer who died in 1906 and before that ran Lefever Arms Company and later Lefever, Sons & Co., both in Syracuse, New York (Guns & Prices 2012, p. 611). Charles was probably never a French citizen.
