Having received accreditation twice by the NBA, the Department of Information Technology has successfully run its programs since inception. Beginning with an initial intake of 40 students for the B.Tech course, the department has steadily increased its undergraduate student intake to 120 seats. In 2011, it further expanded its offerings with the initiation of the postgraduate course (M.Tech).
Over the years, the department has invested in strengthening its resources and providing state-of-the-art facilities to facilitate learning and the development of professional skills. With 7 laboratories utilized to put theoretical concepts into practice and prepare students for the industry, the department encourages engagement in challenging projects and internships at the national and international levels to enhance technical prowess.
Moreover, the department offers opportunities for students to join various student chapters such as NEN, SPIE, and OSA, along with engaging in extracurricular activities. Electrical & Electronics Engineering
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) was established in 2015, offering a 4-year undergraduate program with an annual intake of 60 students in the B.Tech. (EEE) course. Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Director of the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), a leading educational institution in India, has initiated numerous entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, he serves as the Founder and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering & Management in Kolkata and Jaipur. With a background as a Computer Engineer and extensive research experience during his Master's in Computer Science, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his roles. Prof. Dr. Chakrabarti's professional journey includes significant contributions as a Project Manager, where he has demonstrated expertise in planning, execution, monitoring, stakeholder communication, vendor negotiation, and team motivation. Notably, he has laid the groundwork for industry-university alliances with companies such as Nokia and UBC.
