Computer Science & Engineering
The Computer Science & Engineering Department stands as one of the oldest engineering departments at the Institute of Engineering & Management. Accredited with an 'A' Category grade by NAAC, IEM has been a pioneer in delivering quality education. Established in 1997 under the affiliation of Kalyani University and subsequently under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formerly West Bengal University of Technology), the CSE Department has consistently emphasized technical knowledge.
From its inception, the department has been dedicated to providing quality education while keeping pace with cutting-edge research in technology. Students from the CSE Department have excelled not only in academic pursuits but also in extracurricular activities, as evidenced by their achievements in technical fests, science exhibitions, cultural events, and more.
Infrastructure
The Institute boasts a 1 Gbps (1:1) dedicated leased line for high-speed Internet connectivity, ensuring seamless access to online resources. Additionally, the campus is equipped with Wi-Fi facilities to further enhance connectivity.
In consideration of students' well-being and recreation, the campus features amenities such as a rooftop mini-golf course, cricket net practice area, table tennis boards, carrom boards, two basketball courts, and a gymnasium, promoting both physical activity and leisure.
Furthermore, the Institute provides access to over 5000 computers, empowering students with ample resources for their academic and research endeavors.

Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Director of the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), a leading educational institution in India, has initiated numerous entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, he serves as the Founder and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering & Management in Kolkata and Jaipur. With a background as a Computer Engineer and extensive research experience during his Master's in Computer Science, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his roles. Prof. Dr. Chakrabarti's professional journey includes significant contributions as a Project Manager, where he has demonstrated expertise in planning, execution, monitoring, stakeholder communication, vendor negotiation, and team motivation. Notably, he has laid the groundwork for industry-university alliances with companies such as Nokia and UBC.
