Are hard drives random or sequential access memory?

[edit]

In response to this edit, I started looking for sources for the claim that hard drives are sequential access memory or not, but couldn't find anything concrete.

Hard drives support both sequential and random access, but they're faster at sequential. But which is it? -- intgr [talk] 07:50, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
