Essential point missing: did British officers answer to UK?

[edit]

Did they keep their UK rank? Was promotion in Jordan a. possible, b. recognised in the UK, c. what about the other way round? Did they need permission from the King/Queen to serve in Jordan? To what degree did they answer to the UK government and/or military command?

Then: did they, de facto, tend to push UK interests? See 1948: not so at that point, but maybe later.

W/o this, the article makes little sense, it remains on a shallow "officially approved" level that could come straight out of the PR offices from Amman. Which maybe it does. That's an important perspective in itself, but no more than that. Arminden (talk) 08:01, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
