I'm moderately knowledgeable about CAD and 3D modelling, but I don't really understand what a "geometric modelling kernel" is - and this article doesn't help! EAi (talk) 13:34, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

EAi Geometric modeling kernel is a software component that lies on the basis of every CAD system. Geometric kernel is responsible for 3D-modeling calculations, as well as some other auxiliary calculations, and its source codes consist of very knowledge-intensive chunks. Thus, if there is a software company that needs to develop a new 3D application, the most simple way to do it is to get ready-to-use DLL and implement all company wants in terms of 3D modeling through one of existing kernels' API. Does ZW3D still use ACIS?

Should it be Overdrive?
