It would be nice to have a link explaining precisely what a background thread is. What does GIT stand for

In the section "Message Loop for serializing GUI accesses" the GIT data structure is referenced twice without any explanation, previously with a link to the git version control system. Is GIT simply a misspelling of GUI or has it some other meaning I'm not aware of, cause I've never heard of the term before. Z7V9R (talk) 14:41, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
