Dubious

[edit]

The infobox and table say that one of the builders form these sg hips was William Laird & Son of Birkenhead. Is this what the sources here actually say? William Laird was long dead by 1900, as was his son; AFAIK the company at that time was called Laird Brothers. Can anyone shed any light on this? Xyl 54 (talk) 11:41, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Winfield, R.; Lyon, D. (2004). The Sail and Steam Navy List: All the Ships of the Royal Navy 1815–1889. London: Chatham Publishing. ISBN 978-1-86176-032-6. OCLC 52620555. says Laird Brothers. I'll make the changes. Thanks for bringing it up. Shem (talk) 13:18, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
