Why a separate article?

I don't understand why "conditional variance" needs its own article. If we're going to use Bayes' theorem, why not just derive the conditional distribution, and then use the formula for variance on that? This is in fact what's been done here … notational sleight-of-hand. DavidCBryant 10:54, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
