History of Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables jounal

[edit]

Here are some comments that I got from Dr. Balraj Singh: ``Hi Boris:

Here is my tracing of the history of ADNDT from 1965 onwards:

Dec 1965: Volume 1: Nuclear Data Sheets A (for nuclear theoretical and experimental topical) articles: first two articles: A.H. Wapstra: Two-proton and two-neutron Binding energies. Systematics and alpha-decay energies. 2. Nuclear Transition Probabilities, B(E2) for 0+ (g.s.) --> first 2+ transitions, and deformation Parameters beta 2. (Nuclear Data Sheets B for mass chains, also started in 1965, with Kay Way as editor).

7 volumes of Nuclear Data Sheets A published until 1969: total of 45 nuclear articles of great importance.

Sept 1969: two separate journals started: 1. Atomic Data. 2. Nuclear Data Tables. 5 volumes of Atomic data and 11 volumes of Nuclear Data Tables were published until 1973.

Volume 12: 1974: above two journals were merged into: Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables; that continues till now.

Chief Editors: 1965-1982: Kay Way. 1983-1995: Angela-Li-Scholz. 1996-2003: Subramanian Raman/D.R. Schultz. 2003-2013: D.R. Schultz. 2014- present: Boris Pritychenko.

Hope above is of some use for record keeping.

All the best, Balraj "

Basically, Balraj is pointing out that the Nuclear Data Tables journal was originally called Nuclear Data Sheets A (NDS/A). Other journal Nuclear Data Sheets B (NDS/B) is presently known as Nuclear Data Sheets (NDS). I think this information should be incorporated. Thank you,

Boris Pritychenko. ADNDT, Editor-in-Chief. 130.199.251.4 (talk) 16:22, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
