what is it

The article opens with "In fluid dynamics, aerodynamic potential flow codes or panel codes are used to determine the fluid velocity [...]". That's what they are used for, but what are they? Three digit numbers? A kind of breakfast cereal? Are they like missile launch codes? Who is the intended audience of this article? A5 (talk) 18:26, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
