The Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences is a scholastic research institute based in Stanford, California, focusing on the social sciences and humanities. Like the Princeton-based Institute for Advanced Study, the Center is often assumed to be part of its nearby university but is actually an independent private institution. The Center is funded by the Ford Foundation, and was founded after World War II.
