Erida Vllasaliu

Erida Vllasalu is a 10-year-old girl from Kosovo. She is in the fifth grade and won fourth place in the European competition of the English language "Hippo Olympiad". She is also known for her talent and passion in the field of programming.

Biography

Erida Vllasaliu was born in Pristina. She goes to the "Pavarësia" school in Pristina. She learned the English language when she was in the third grade, but even then she did not know the English language properly. "My parents always told me that I should learn English, because in the first grade I didn't know English. I got bored when I heard others speak English and I just looked at them confused," she said. Her passion in the field of programming began when she was 9 years old. "I got the talent and passion I have for Programming from my father," she said. She has always passed with exemplary grades in school. She also has favorite sports such as: Tennis, Soccer and Basketball. She participated in the "Hippo Olympiad" competition on March 18, 2023. "The first round was very easy. But , in the last 2 rounds I was challenged." she says. And so, she announced the year 2023 as "The Best Year", because she became successful in the field of programming and in European competitions, where she raised Kosovo to a very high place.

Programming

Erida Vllasaliu started learning programming from the age of 9. She already has 1 year of experience with programming languages such as: HTML, CSS, JS, jQuery and MySQL. She shows how with these programming languages she has built different web-pages and her favorite was "Restaurant web-page".

She shares how programming has helped her a lot in building her career. She also shares how being an atomist helps her understand programming lessons better. She has also mentioned that she will write a book on coding and another on teaching English.

"Hippo Olympiad"

Hippo Olympiad is the Olympiad where Erida Vllasaliu showed her knowledge of the English language. Erida says that before going to the Semi-Finals, she didn't want to continue and thought she wouldn't win. The "European-Qualifiers" round was held in Venice, Italy and Erida says she had a great time while there. Erida says that when she returned from Italy with her award, the whole school welcomed her with joy and had prepared a surprise for him. Some of the happiest moments of her life were mentioned in this article.
