OSS through Java

OSS/J is an acronym for OSS (Operations Support System) through Java, which provides industry standard interface specifications (APIs) used to connect different OSS information systems together by using Java technologies.

The OSS/J initiative was founded in 2000 by several members (view list). The primary goal being the development of open interface standards for the integration of Business (BSS) & Operations Support Systems (OSS).

Recently the OSS/J joined the TeleManagement Forum (TMF) and address the concerns of NGOSS implementation stakeholders by providing open standard APIs based on the NGOSS framework, particularly the Shared Information and Data (SID) model.

A visual representation of the TMF NGOSS eTOM is shown below indicating the three primary categories of communications business processes - SIP, Operations & Enterprise Management.
