Here are examples of files that can and cannot be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons:

• Y Files you took/created yourself

  Note that all files are Commons are granted permission for others to use, change, and share, including commercially (like selling it).

• Y Files that others licensed under an approved license
• Y Files that are either too simple or too old and are in the public domain
• ? Files that include 2D or 3D art (see Commons:Freedom of panorama)
• N Files that others took/created, and aren't licensed under an approved license

  This includes most files on the Internet.
