Usage of name?

'Bach's algorithm' suggests that the algorithm has been referred to in that way elsewhere (if this was not in a citable source, an explanation should be provided). Thus, a source or should be provided, no? I did a quick search and could not find reference to a Bach's algorithm except for in this Wikipedia article. The article provindes two references to Bach's articles and one to an article that says "Bach presents an efficient algorithm for...". So, the latter can be considered as a source for the name of the article. Seaching "Bach's algorithm" and "Bach algorithm" on Scholar Google provides 25 and 118 results respectively, many of them referring to the algorithm of this article. Some other refer to a "BACH algorithm" in genomic studies, and some refer to a Dinkel–Bach or Dinkelbach algorithm. It is unclear whether BACH algorithm and Dinkel–Bach algorithms are related to the one of this article, but there are sufficiently many hits for being sure that the term "Bach's algorithm" is commonly used in some research communities. Hi Lazard,
I was unable to replicate your results on Scholar Google. Not sure why that was. I don't know anything about this algorithm and so am not well placed to comment on whether 'Bach's algorithm' is a phrase that is used in the literature. But I based my question on my original search, and, in my repeat search, I could only identify a few websites that made reference to 'Bach's algorithm', but no articles. Perhaps I am not looking in the right places. Mindlessdrone123495 (talk) 10:19, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For searching the phrase "Bach's algorithm" on Scholar Google (and also on Google) , you must enter the phrase with quotes; otherwise, you will get all articles containing both "Bach" and "algorithm". D.Lazard (talk) 11:10, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
