Sample of a side by side policy lead with two competing views. From Wikipedia:Paid editing/Wikipedia:Paid editors.

Note: This is a SUPPORTING VIEW.

Paid editing is not exclusively forbidden, however pay editors like anyone else must follow Wikipedia's rules and procedures. In addition to the primary rules of WP:NPOV and WP:CIVIL, users cannot engage in devious editing tactics like using multiple IPs or accounts, or engage in edit wars. Where content is disputed, everyone must be cooperative and communicative on the respective talk pages, and must submit to dispute resolution processes.

Note that accepting pay from a particular entity indicates to others that your manner of editing may conform to standards which are not consistent with Wikipedia's. Full disclosure is always appropriate, and will enhance your ability to make a case for your changes.

Note, this is an OPPOSING VIEW.

On Wikipedia editing articles for pay is, in most cases, strictly forbidden. The only exception is for employees and contractors of the Wikimedia Foundation and the Foundation's chapters. To retain public trust and to keep conflicts of interest to a minimum, even many apparently harmless cases of editing articles for pay are forbidden.
