Comment 1 (Could this not form part of either (a) population model or (b) evolutionary algorithm?):
A: The existing article Population model deals with a completely different type of models used to study the population dynamics of living organisms. The new article is about different methods for structuring a population of solutions used by an evolutionary algorithm.
B: When reading the articles in the topic area evolutionary algorithms, I got the impression that short topic-centred articles are preferred to longer ones that highlight several aspects. I wanted to follow this practice with my new article. If I am wrong and the intention is different, I can of course integrate the material into the article evolutionary algorithm.

Comment 2 (lack of references):
I have added several references and/or assigned them more precisely to the different passages in the text. I would like to point out that structured populations are often treated in the literature in the context of parallelising EAs, which is also well known in the EA community. Therefore, the titles of the puplications often refer to parallelisation and yet also deal with the underlying population models. I would also like to point out that the two doctoral theses cited alone could serve as evidence for the content of the article except for the enumeration in the last paragraph. If you are still missing references, it would be helpful to name the corresponding text passages. Many thanks in advance.

On the relevance of this article: The article describes an effective countermeasure against premature convergence of evolutionary algorithms and I will link to it in subsequent articles after its publication:
