A software architect is a software engineer responsible for high-level design choices related to overall system structure and behavior.[1]

They monitor the functionality, resilience, performance, scalability, security, technology, constraints, and tradeoffs. They ensure the coordination of existing components of a high-level software structure, both internally and externally, to keep decision-making and communication effective in an organization.
