Is jmp basically the same thing as goto? 71.63.86.150 16:49, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I even suggest adding "See also".5.53.17.12 (talk) 10:49, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This instruction also does (hardware) task switch, if target selector is a TSS or a task gate. 5.53.17.12 (talk) 10:49, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Out of date

This article needs to be updated to take 64-bit long mode into account and 8-byte jump offsets. GSMR (talk) 21:10, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is this worth a separate article?

IMO, there's not enough importance for a separate article about this instruction. The text can be merged into other articles about the x86 architecture or assembly language. --Yuriz (talk) 12:54, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. The article should be better expanded and include the other jump commands (JE, JG, JC, JZ, JNE, JNG, JNC, JNZ etc.). Then you will have one article for all the jump instructions of the x86 CPU. IT-Compiler (talk) 05:44, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
