Punyark (Sun Temple)

The Punyark Sun temple is a Gupta period ^[1] temple dedicated to the worship of Sun God 'Suryadev'.

History

The temple is said to have been built by Samba^[2] who was the son of Krishna^[3]and his second consort Jambavati.

Location

The temple is situated in Pandarak village which falls under Barh^[4] subdivision of Patna district^[5]. Pandarak is situated along the southern bank of river Ganges^[6], nearly eighty kilometers east of city of Patna^[7], in the state of Bihar^[8].
