Constellation program's eventual goal: producing 1 good article () per week and 1 featured article per month (). First, an article is chosen for improvement with a firm but lax deadline. To be called a success, it must reach a predefined article class goal when time ends. Other articles related to the topic are encouraged to be added as a "side mission", packed together to form a "wiki-mission". The scope of the Constellation program is currently on improving spaceflight articles, though this may change in the future.

Instead of using awards and points, the Constellation program aims to make editors engaged via mission patches, raw collaboration energy and concrete result. The same can be said about editor recruitment: while most WikiProjects prefer highly advanced editors, the Constellation program encourages new editors via guidelines established by a separate WikiProject Editor Retention. We would try to work together with the newbies as this is the only way for the program to be sustainable.

Some collaborations that haven't met members' expectations and some that have done incredible things. They all contain valuable lessons that must be learned for the Constellation program to succeed. Do you want to join a determined collaboration group? Then participate in the Constellation program; if you have joined, consider inviting others as well!
