Open Source Press was a computer book publisher based in Munich, Germany. The company specialized in high-quality publications on topics related to open-source software and philosophy.[1] It was founded in 2003 and ceased publishing activities at the end of 2015.

The publisher sold its books both in classic book form and digitally as e-books, specialized in Linux and open source software and was aimed at administrators, programmers and users.

According to Open Source Press, it felt it was its own duty to contribute to the open source community and, in particular, to help open source gain more recognition.[2]

The manager, Markus Wirtz formerly worked as editor in chief for SUSE Press.
