Fluvial Taphonomy

Fluvial taphonomy is concerned with the decomposition of organisms in rivers. Organisms in terrestrial and fluvial environments will not undergo the same processes. [1] A fluvial environment may be colder than a terrestrial environment. [1] The ecosystem of live organisms and abiotic items in rivers will differ than on land. [1] Organisms may also be physically transported by the flow of the river. [1] The flow of the river can additionally erode the surface of the organisms found within it. [1]
