The Swakopmund Museum is a history museum in Namibia.

History

The museum was founded by the dentist Alfons Weber in 1951. Part of the objects were donated by residents of Swakopmund, many of whom were of German descent.[1]

Collections

The museum contains natural history exhibits with dioramas of Namibia's ecological zones. The museum also has collections of books, coins, clothing, weapons and stamps. The museum also contains an art collection that includes paintings and photographs of Namibian people, as well as works by Joseph Madisia and John Muafangejo.[2] The museum contains exhibits of stuffed animals.[3]
