World Programming System (WPS) is a software product developed by a company called World Programming. WPS is an alternative to the SAS System. It allows users to create, edit and run programs written in the language of SAS.
WPS can use programs developed with the SAS System without the need for translating them into any other language. It also follows that programs developed with WPS can be used with the SAS System. In this regard WPS is compatible with SAS.
WPS can be installed and used on mainframe computers running z/OS and personal computers running Microsoft Windows. When installed on a Windows system it has the added advantage of a user interface (known as the Workbench) for editing and running programs. The user interface is based on Eclipse (software).
