Sayin' What I'm Thinkin' is a studio album by American country singer–songwriter Lainey Wilson. It was released on February 19, 2021 via the BBR Music Group and contained 12 tracks. The album was the third studio collection released in Wilson's music career and the first issued on a major record label. The disc has since spawned two singles: "Dirty Looks" (2019) and "Things a Man Oughta Know" (2020). The latter release became Wilson's breakout single, reaching chart positions on the country music surveys in North America. Sayin' What I'm Thinkin has since been met with favorable reviews from critics and writers.
Release and promotion
After signing with Broken Bow Records, Wilson released an EP titled Redneck Hollywood in September 2019. "Dirty Looks" was sent to country radio as Wilson's first single in October and failed to chart. Beginning in early 2020 Wilson released a series of promotional singles: "WWDD" (March 27), "Rolling Stone" (April 24), "Sunday Best" (June 26), and "Small Town, Girl" (July 31). "Things a Man Oughta Know" was sent to country radio as Wilson's second single in August 2020. It became her first single to appear on the Billboard charts and went on to become her first number one single at country radio in September 2021. A fifth promotional single, "Neon Diamonds", was released on January 22, 2021 to coincide with the album's preorder.
The album was released February 19, 2021, on CD and LP, in addition to being made available on all streaming platforms and as a digital download.
Chart performance
The album peaked at number 40 on the Billbiard Top Country Albums chart and number three on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. It also peaked at number 94 on the Billboard Current Album Sales chart.
