Tech.co.uk is a UK-focused technology news and reviews site from Future Publishing. The company is based in Bath, UK.

As of early February, the site is still in Beta. At some point in April, Tech.co.uk will launch while absorbing Future Publishing's magazine websites such as PC Plus, PC Format and MacFormat.

Using Future Publishing’s new custom-built content management system, named 'Horizon,' users will eventually be able to filter and choose content to create their own unique home page within the site. The site contains relevant news, blogs, product reviews and forum postings, whether a user is interested in Blu-ray disc technology, laptop PCs, or one of the many available categories. Future announced a lot of this information in its original press release about the site.

This release shows the site was originally to be called TechDaily, with the reviews housed in a separate site called TechTested. The reviews side of the site competes with Trusted Reviews and Vnunet.

The reviews side of the site is aimed at anyone planning to buy a new computer component or piece of consumer electronics kit but needs advice or reassurance before purchasing. Unlike websites which solely compare price, TechTested utilises Future’ Publishing’s vast database of computing and electronic product reviews – from magazines including PC Plus, Home Cinema Choice and Total Mobile. Each product featured in the vast TechTested database has its own page, offering would-be buyers an easy entry to all the information they need to make a decision.

The site has already posted some big stories including one about Zune arriving in the UK in two to three months (January 2006) see the 'Speculation and rumor' bit here and Apple to license Fairplay DRMThis was picked up by many other sites including ArsTechnica and Engadget.
