El chulito

  • A

I believe Our Day Will Come was used by another user to pretend to be a sock of User:Vintagekits. Checkuser has confimed that the Our Day Will Come and Vintagekits accounts are unrelated (see here). Our Day Will Come was newly created and immediately began editing articles Vintagekits was recently involved in with pro-Irish republican slances. This includes the first ever edit of commenting on a case for deletion that Vintagekits was involved in, and voting in the same way [1]. The second edit included a short sentance adding "Volunteer" to an article [2], something that Vintagekits is currently prevented in doing according to mediation [3]. The third edit involves helping Vintagekits in an edit war with another user [4]. The fourth edit was to remove an "unverified" tag to an image that Vintagekits had added [5]. The fifth was to revert to a version by Vintagekits in the Diarmuid O'Neill article, after other users had removed references [6]. The other edits are in similar vein. Given the past history of Vintagekits, I don't think he would have thought he could get away with this, and so wouldn't have tried it.

El Chulito, and their legitimate sock User:New identity, has been strongly invovled in disputes with Vintagekits, culminating in incident cases being taken out by Vintagekits on El Chulito/New Identity (see here), and vice versa (see here). I'm trying to get to the bottom of who did it (for the integrity of Wikipedia - me and Vintagekits have a troubled history...), so will put in a few other potential cases. Red X Unrelated as far as IP analysis can determine. (More specifically: Our Day Will Come is not IP-related to any other editors.) --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 03:31, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
