Hanghui Liu is a scientist of analytical chemistry. In 1996, he received his PhD in analytical chemistry under Purnendu K. Dasgupta in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Texas Tech University.[1] Liu and Dasgupta published the research on solvent extraction in a microdrop on "Analytical Chemistry" in 1996. The paper reported the first drop-in-drop system and was one of the earliest research articles on single microdrop based extraction.[2] The article has been cited >500 times.
