SriKrishna@gmail.com is a 2021 Indian Kannada romantic film written and directed by Nagashekar.[1][2] The film was produced by Sandesh.N and co-produced by Brunda Jayaram under the banner Sandesh Productions. It features Krishna[3] and Bhavana Menon[4] in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes H.G.Dattatreya, Sadhu Kokila and Achuyuth Kumar. The score and soundtrack for the film is by Arjun Janya[5] and the cinematography is by Satya Hegde. The film received mixed to negative reviews from both audience and critic reviews and became a box office bomb.

Cast

Production

The film was announced with the muhurta on June 18 at a temple.[9][10] Filming started in September 2020 in Bangalore.[11] Later shooting took place in Mysuru and Jog falls.[12][13] Actress Radhika Kumarswamy was initially approached for the female lead character, but she declined.[14] Later the role went to actress Bhavana Menon who agreed to be a part of the film.[15] Actor Chandan Kumar was approached to play an extended cameo role in the film.[16] Rishab Shetty was approached to play a pivotal cameo role in the film[17]. The film was wrapped in July 2021.[18] The trailer of the film was released on 2 October 2021.[19] The film was initially slated to hit the theaters on 14 October 2021[20] but owing to two other big releases, Salaga and Kotigobba 3, it was pushed a day ahead and was released on 15 October 2021.[21][22][23]

Reception

The Times of India gave 2/5 stars stating "The idea of the film, from what has been said, is to tell a tale of an empowered woman and also show her viewpoint. While the leading lady is an integral part of the story, she's left more powerless than empowered and the premise upon which the entire twist and the conflict in the film is based on is unconvincing. The film looks good, with a good-looking cast and some stunning visuals. But the story is where the film falls flat. srikrishna@gmail.com could have been a nice contemporary tale, but the eventual story is a cop out and the treatment of characters seems hackneyed. Rishab Shetty's cameo too does not add weightage as the role has little substantiation. This romantic tale promises a lot, but doesn't eventually deliver."[24]

The Deccan Herald gave 2.5/5 stars and stated "The film's title is based on a twist that isn't anywhere close to shocking. Somehow, 'Shrikrishna@gmail.com' consistently struggles to be the film it wants to be."[25]
