Engineering Consulting is practice of performing engineering as a Consulting Engineer. It assists in development of public and private companies. This development can be in a variety of ways including Process Management, idea organization, product design, fabrication, MRO(Maintainence, Repair and Operations), servicing, tech advise, tech specifications, tech estimating, costing, budgeting, valuation,branding, and marketing.[1] Engineering consulting firms may require engineers from multiple disciplines including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Chemical, Industrial, and Agricultural, Electronics and Telecom, Computer and Network, Instrumentation and Control, IT, Manufacturing and Production, Aerospace, Marine, Fire and Safety, etc. This diversity may be necessary to cover wide variety of potential projects that could be presented to a consulting engineering company or firm.[2] Additionally, Consulting Engineers may assist in marketing of Company or product or project.[3]
Education
Most firms require at least a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, four years' related experience and a Government License. Types of degrees applied to engineering consulting include Degrees in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university.
