It would help tremendously if someone would actually define what O stands for here, since it is important that P does not equal to it. Atuomi (talk) 18:14, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
Martin's todo note:
Make the notation line up between formal and informal descriptions. Mpdehnel (talk) 16:35, 4 October 2017 (UTC)
Multiple issues: Imprecise language, confusing structure, plus structural statements contradict structure of article
- Only wolfSSL is mentioned to implement this scheme (but presumably it only implements ECIES), while Botan, Bouncy Castle, BSAFE and Crypto++ also might implement ECIES. (September 2021)
- It is not mentioned to be standardised by an official standardisation body, but multiple research papers mention ECIES to be defined in the standards ANSI X9.63, ISO/IEC 18033-2 and IEEE 1363A (only the industry specification SECG SEC 1 is mentioned and linked to, here). (September 2021)
- It might be better to clearly separate DLIES and ECIES into different sections after the extant, general introduction of IES. (September 2021)
