Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Edit this section if you want to move a request from Uncontroversial to Contested.
Uncontroversial technical requests
- Faactory (2021 film) → Faactory (currently a redirect instead to Faisal Khan) (move · discuss) – move over placeholder redirect which never contained an article 2A01:4C8:A1:F08E:69AA:AD25:80F8:B9C5 (talk) 15:17, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
Administrator needed
- Put requests that require an administrator (e.g., because the page to be moved is move-protected or the target is creation-protected) here. Do not place a request here if it only requires a page mover.
Contested technical requests
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- Sex and nudity in video games (currently a redirect to Sexual content in video games) → Sex in video games (currently a redirect instead to Sexual content in video games) (move · discuss) – Titles do not conflict, as professed by the original mover, per WP:DIFFCAPS ZXCVBNM (TALK) 16:43, 31 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Zxcvbnm: Not opposing this, but the same editor moved this from Adult video game to Pornographic video game to Erotic video game to Sex in video games to Sex and nudity in video games, all within 2 days in 2011. Should it go back to Adult video game? Station1 (talk) 16:59, 31 August 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree that it should. A new article should really probably be created in the sex in video games namespace instead. This was a move that changed its scope for no apparent reason. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 17:23, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

- Came here because Zxcvbnm indicated that a technical request was started to revert the undiscussed move. I don't think reverting it back to sex in video games or even adult video game from a decade ago is necessary or viable; I suggest that a better solution is to move the article to Sexual content in video games instead, because a good quality article could probably be written on the topic, and thus I would oppose the current request.
