Robomart, Inc. is a store-hailing service based in Santa Monica, California, founded in 2017.[1] The company delivers the store to users who can pick the store, review menus, and order a store to their location within West Hollywood, California using an application on the iOS platform.[2] Payment is charged to a card on file with Robomart. The store comes with requested goods from the preferred store. Robomart develops autonomous, checkout-free mobile stores.

History

Robomart is headquartered in Santa Monica, California, and was founded in 2017 by Ali Ahmed, Tigran Shahverdyan, and Emad Rahim.[3] The company has various mini-mart's they refer to as Robomarts. Depending on the type of store you order to your location, each Robomart has a different theme. The company has two operational Robomarts within debuted at CES 2018 where it unveiled its concept for a self-driving store.[4][5][6][7]

Partnerships

In January 2019, Robomart announced its first partnership with U.S. grocery chain Stop & Shop to commercially deploy its driverless stores.[8][9][10][11][12][13] The company receives its contents inside each store are produced from REEF Technology via their partnership. They currently provide for both Pharmacy and Snacks Robomart, as well as expected to provide for the future Robomart fleets as well.

In September 2019, the company partnered with Avery Dennison to receive RFID technology tags for their goods within their stores.[14]

In December 2020, Robomart partnered with Zeeba Vans to receive a fleet of vehicles from the company for expansion of its operating zone.[15]

Stores

The company debuted its first live prototype of an autonomous Robomart at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show.[16] Co-founder, Ali Ahmed, gave various demos to walk potential consumers through the meaning of their presence. As of June 28, 2021, The company has two Robomarts operating within West Hollywood; A Pharmacy Robomart with the likes of body hygiene products, health products, etc and Snacks Robomart offering convenience store snacks and beverages.

In an article with Supermarketnews, the company CEO, Ali Ahmed, sat down with reporter, Russell Redman, and mentioned there would be additional types of Robomarts within the future like Cafe Robomart's which would include the likes of donuts, coffee, etc, Pantry Robomart's with the likes of dry groceries and Deli Robomart's with deli meats.[17]
