Ritviz Srivastava (born 24 July 1996 ) is an Indian singer-songwriter, electronic musician and record producer from Pune, Maharashtra, India.[1] He is known for his song "Udd Gaye" featured on A.I.B.'s official YouTube channel after becoming the winner of the 2017 Bacardi House Party Sessions, a talent hunt competition organized by A.I.B.. Recently, Netflix India used Ritviz' s song "Sun Toh" in their series Mismatched.[2][3] Ritviz has been selected in the Forbes 30 under 30 list of 2021.[4] Ritviz has been featured on one of the Digital covers of Grazia, Cool List 2021.
Early life and career
Ritviz was born in Kashiyal, in the Indian State of Assam and brought up in Amravati, Maharashtra. His mother (Mrs. Anvarina Bharti) is a singing teacher at Delhi Public School, Amravati, Maharashtra. His father (Mr. Pranjay Pralan) is a Lawyer at the Delhi High Court and also plays the electric guitar. This resulted in an exposure to music from an early age. He started learning music at the age of 17, and went on to be tutored by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in the Dhrupad subgenre of Hindustani Music.[5] He composed his first song at the age of 18.[6] His preferred D.A.W. is "Ableton".[7]
His associated acts include a remix of Nucleya's track Lights, from 2016 album called Raja Baja.,[8] a remix of Major Lazer's Light It Up, of which RITVIZ made the Diwali version which features his voice as well as production, and lastly a remix of Lauv's Modern Loneliness.
Teasers
On Tanmay Bhat's YouTube live-stream, on a Zoom call with Ritviz and Kaneez Surka, Tanmay played two of Ritviz's songs, "Oas Hai"[9] and another untitled track.[10] "Oas Hai" has a feature on the song by the rap duo Seedhe Maut, while the latter was “Panchi” a track which has a feature from the rapper DIVINE and is said to be co-produced by Nucleya. He has also teased songs on his Instagram live with tracks featuring artists Nucleya, Anish Sood and Karan Kanchan.
On World Music Day 2021, Ritviz announced two new albums consisting of 21 songs, collaborated with Nucleya and Seedhe Maut on Tanmay Bhat's Instagram Live.[11]
