Garry's Mod

Garry's Mod is one of the most well know modificatations of Half-Life 2. It includes some things never seen in videogame mods ever, including:

Ragdoll Poser

Face poser - adjust the faces of ragdolls and NPCs

Spawn almost any item from Half-Life 2 using a menu

Hacked in Depth of Field

Rope objects and people together

Weld objects and people together

Pulley objects and people together

Axis objects together

Ball-Socket objects and people together

Add motorized wheels and control their speed

Draw on the walls with the paint gun

Balloon gun

Add gas cannisters and switch them on and off

Place a camera and watch it on your HUD

Shoot multiple props out of your rocket propelled grenade Launcher

Attach manhacks and scanners to objects and corpses

Create timed explosions

Change the colors of objects/sprites/NPCs

Create magnets

You can manipulate basically anything ever programed into Half-Life 2 using this mod. It is one of the most popular mods for Half-Life 2, and actually, any game. It has been featurd on G4TechTv (the video can be found here), used in a multitude of comics, and used in many Half-Life 2 contests. It has had many maps made specifically for it, though they can be played in Half-Life 2 normally without using the mod.

Versions

At the moment, Garry's Mod is at Verison 7, which has added various canges to the older versions. As it has gone along, it has gained many things, and only lost a few. Every versoin has had GM_construct, the original map that comes with the mod. The map has grown over the releases of different versions of the game. It now has a black room, a white room, a dark room, a warehouse-type area, an outside are, a garage, a lake, a flat cement area, and a hallway with teleporters to different maps in it.

Contests

Many contests involving Half-Life 2 have been held where people must use this mod to create images. This mod has also been used in pictures for Picture of the Day (POTD) at many websites based on Half-Life 2.

Requirements

To use this mod, you need a computer with Half-Life 2 on it. To have this, you need a Steam account. This mod is best run on a fairly good computer, because if your computer isn't up to dat, some of the features will not work properly.
