The California appellate projects are non-profit law offices under a contract with the Judicial Council of California or the California Court of AppealCite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).</ref> to provide legal services to indigent parties on appeal from criminal, delinquency, dependency and mental health judgments in their respective district. There are six appellate projects: one each for each of the districts of the Court, with the exception of the Third and Fifth districts which share a single project, and one for assisting in the representation of capital inmates.
